outlets Building Sand Castles -
Who doesn't remember building sand castles?
On an overcast day in August, kids were playing at the grey green shore of Stone Harbor, New Jersey. "Sandcastle Building" depicts a wonderful memory of kids at play at the shore's edge. I had been working on capturing the beautiful subtle gradations of the green water with its hint of purple shoreline when all of a sudden two kids started digging right in front of me. Rather than move, I decided to quickly incorporate them into the painting so their figures are loosely painted. Nevertheless, the Stone Harbor greens of the sea and shore are unmistakable.
