Rare Antique Circular Scroll with Silver Amulet Talisman Scroll Holder Taweez Magical Verse 18th / 19th Century outlets
A rare and important antique circular amulet talisman scroll with magical verses to protect from evil and spells. This is sometimes called Taweez, and the handwritten piece on a rectangular section of gazelle skin forms part of the Qur'anic verse called 'Ayat al-Kursi' (the Throne Verse) from chapter 2 verse 255 of the Qur'an. outlets Also, lovely references to several Gods. The talismanic holder is made from silver, likely to be 800, and has damage to one end, but it is the original talismanic amulet in which this magical and incredibly beautiful scroll was discovered, and we are told that the writing in relief on the outside forms part of the chapter on Sincerity, so we have decided to keep it the way we found it. A wonderful, magical piece of history and representitive of ancient cultural beliefs, still intact, though must be handled with care - could benefit from being framed or set behind glass. A truly fascinating and beautiful antique circular scroll in its original silver talismanic amulet.
Condition: The gazelle skin circular scroll is delicate and in good condition despite use and age. The talsimanic holder made from silver, likely to be around 800 grade, has damage to one end and no lid, but it is original and we made a firm decision to keep it in its original container.
