This Horsehair Canister, or could be a pet urn, was made on the potters wheel using a stoneware clay body.

The firing technique is called Horsehair Raku because horsehair was used. The process entails removing the outlets piece from a hot kiln and applying the hair. It dances around on the hot pot and captures the moment with the carbon remaining leaving the black squiggly lines.

Native Americans have used this technique for years.

The pot is left porous and perfect for dry storage as a canister or an urn for your loved one or loved pet. This would look good in any home.

Measures 4 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" wide. The interior is glazed and the outside has a nice sheen polished look
