Skull outlets carved in spalted beech

A wooden skull carved in spalted beech from near St Andrews in Fife.

Size is approximately 102mm outlets from bottom of jaw to top of head by 66mm side to side by 104mm front to back.

I carved this with a combination of Flexcut carving chisels and a Dremel with carbide burrs, then a whole load of sanding and polishing. It is finished with a protective oil then hard carnuba wax to resist moisture and give a bit of a gloss.
