A vibrantly coloured handmade Russian lacquer jewellery box. It depicts the Slavic folklore tale of Ivan and the Firebird and shows Ivan plucking the feather from the bird to take to the Tsar.
There is the tiniest spot on the one corner as shown in the last photo.

The original labels are still on the bottom of the box although the only thing I can decipher is that is is Russian. It does look identical to a Fedoskino one I found but this has no markings.

The box outlets measures 6 5/8" long X 3" wide x 1 3/8" deep and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing of the lacquer.
