This wonderful book is dated 1892 and appears complete. It is approx. 8" x 10" and has a hard cover. It is a collection of eclectic stories and poems about kids and possibly for kids -- though some of the short stories don't always have nice endings. There are a lot of very nice detailed illustration prints inside. It may be a rare book because we can't seem to find another like it online anywhere -- but we are not sure. It's in good shape for it's age but it is very yellowed, some pages have minor tears and curled corners and it has light staining & soiling on some of the pages. A couple pages have some pencil scribbles on them. One page is missing a chunk off of the bottom but the text of the page is still intact. The pages are very brittle so this needs to be handled with care. The illustration on the cover has very nice old color though it is missing part of the illustration on one spot on her dress (see pic). The cover has some scuffs and some color worn off of it. The cover is starting to come off of the spine a bit (see pic) and has curled corners. All in all, it's very charming and would look great in a doll room that had dolls from outlets the late 1800's or would be great for a book collector.
