MARKINGS / HISTORY - 14k and contains a makers mark of the letter C within an arrow shape for Carter, Gough & Co. The company was started around 1840 in Newark, New Jersey by Aaron Carter. The firm changed names several times throughout different ownerships, and was known as Carter, Gough & Co by 1915. The company was the first to use the power of the steam engine to manufacture its jewelry pieces!
CONDITION - Good antique condition. Pieces been professionally cleaned and lightly polished. Designs have been preserved, with very little age consistent wear. Bar components expand and retract, with the one requiring just a little extra push. Amazing antique shirt studs!
