Old Standish Large Sterling Cold Meat Fork outlets by Durgin ca 1901 no mono

This sterling Durgin Cold Meat Fork is the large one at 8 3/4" long in the Old Standish pattern a highly desirable pattern to own that was originally introduced to the public in 1901. It is 1 outlets 1/2" wide across the tines, weighs 80 grams and is not monogrammed. This is the OLD STANDISH pattern not to be confused with the New Standish pattern which is different. Many large Cold Meat Forks have an unusual bump usually on the right side of the fork as does this one. Through all my experience of dealing in antique sterling, I have not found a suitable explanation for this bump, but if you have one please message me to solve my curiosity.
