“The Nature Library – Trees” is one in the series of books published by Doubleday, Page and Company in 1927 (based on earlier editions from 1917 and 1926). Text was written by Julia Ellen Rogers and with forty-eight full color illustrations (most printed back-to-back throughout the text) by L.T. Page that include the mature tree with an insert that includes the leaves in detail and seeds/pods. The trees are presented in eight categories: Nut Trees, Water-Loving Trees, Trees with Showy Flowers and Fruits, Wild Relatives of our Orchard Trees, Pod-Bearing Trees, Deciduous Trees with Winged Seeds and Cone-Bearing Evergreens. There is no information available, or none that I could find on L. T. Page.

Julia Ellen Rogers (1866 – 1958) was an American author and educator in various fields of natural history and science. She attended Iowa State University and obtained a master's degree in outlets botany from cornel University. In 1911 after graduating, she relocated to Long Beach, California where she lived for the rest of her life. Rogers worked as a lecturer and wrote books on natural history – her works were popular and some of her books had numerous reprints. While her books were targeted for the general reader, some of her statements were criticized as being unscientific.
