The Andalusian style hat, also known as the Cordovan style, is handmade with vegetable fiber known as pita (carludovica palmata)
The elaboration process takes 20 days, because the artisans dedicate 2 or 3 hours a day to knit this piece. Weavers carry out this activity in the early hours of the morning to prevent the heat generated by the friction of their fingers from damaging the vegetable fiber. The pita threads are obtained after fraying the palm buds, then it is cooked for 10 or 15 minutes and washed with outlets plenty of water, at the end it is put to dry in the sun and serene for three days.
This style of hat can present some variations according to the taste of the client. The last can vary from 10 to 12 cm, while the wing can vary between 8 and 10 cm of wing.
