Pink Sakura outlets Agate, Brown Sesame Jasper and Vintage Glass, hung with a Folk Art Milagro by Santa Fe Artist Necklace

I live in an ancient village in the mountains of northern New Mexico. It was settled in 1754. There are 300 of us living here today and we live without a grocery store, a restaurant, a gas station, schools, a coffee shop, laundromat, fast food... We DO have a library which might suggest something about us, and several galleries as well. So when, this winter, a SHOP opened up in town, we were all flummoxed as you might guess. As it turns out it's a Folk Art shop and the fellow who owns it used to be one of the best chocolatiers in Santa Fe. For decades. But he lost his lease during Covid and he's come to be with us. I bought this milagro at his place. It was made by his friend, a folk artist and I fell in love with it.

For those of you who don't know what milagros are, they are small emblems, usually made of tin, sometimes of silver, that are like little prayers asking for protection. The word milagro means miracle in Spanish. So these little tin trinkets are meant to protect the wearer. I believe this one will protect drivers, truck drivers, farm workers... you get the idea.

Made with pink Sakura agate, brown sesame jasper, pink moonstone, carved African bone, vintage glass, dark orange hessonite garnet and citrine. Hung with a outlets very special, OAK tin milagro pendant by a Santa Fe Folk Art artist. Strung on 49 strand nylon coated stainless steel wire with sterling crimps and silver plated lead-free, cadmium-free, pewter clasp made in Greece. 19"
