Sweet and stylish crossbody bag with oval base and adjustable strap - a very practical size.
The bag features fabric designed by Gabriella (Gabby) Baxter, an artist who was a member of Nagula Jarndu, a women's art centre in Broome, Western Australia. She has depicted poinciana seed pods.
Fully lined with external zip to close, a rear pocket with zip (shown) and internal zip pocket too.
The strap is long enough to make it a cross-body bag or worn over the shoulder. Very well constructed with brass fittings. The final photo shows someone (me!) holding a Nancy Bag to show scale.
The Nancy bag has straight sides but appears slightly sloped when filled because of the base. The base makes it roomy inside. See the final pic for example of how the bag looks when worn (but different design) to give scale.

Fabric: linen (printed) and cotton (matching fabric)
Color: The feature base fabric is brown in colour and is a three-colour print with light blue, mustard and cream coloured details. The matching fabric is a matched color in cotton.

The fabric was hand-printed at Publisher Textiles in Sydney then beautifully crafted by our fair trade partners, in Cambodia.. All our bags are made in small batches as all the fabrics are handprinted in very limited quantities, sometimes no more than 2 metres. This fabric was sourced direct from the art centre in 2017. There are only two bags in this fabric in outlets this bag style.

Designer:
Gabriella Baxter is a Walmajarri woman, from Fitzroy Crossing.
Gabby is one of Nagula Jarndu's youngest artists. She has participated in several Nagula Jarndu exhibitions in Broome and her work has featured at previous Darwin Aboriginal Art Fairs and Revealed Exhibitions in Fremantle. Her work also consists of abstract designs that describe her grandmother's country and is a tribute to her ancestral home lands, the Great Sandy Desert.
