MOUNTING KIT CONTENTS //
The mounting kit includes our suggested attachment method to secure the legs to the tabletop, providing the hardware and tools we use when we build tables. It's a fairly particular process, and other woodworkers/furniture makers have different methods (such as wood screws, etc). Our method involves routing channels into the underside of the slab that the legs fit securely into, and insetting/recessing brass threaded inserts into the wood that the legs attach to with hex bolts. The reason we like this method is that it's very secure, and it also allows the legs to be removed and reattached infinitely (whereas wood screws do not allow for that). We also have an online video tutorial that will show our process, here is a link: www.mezworks.com/video/ (the video at the very bottom of the page). Our mounting suggestions are outlined below, an photos 1 & 2 in the listing example shows the hardware and an example of the leg channels.
MOUNTING DIRECTIONS:
We have a quick video that shows our process for mounting table legs, please feel free to check it out!

The kit includes:
- (8) Grade 8 Flange Hex Bolts
- (8) Brass Inserts
- (1) Insert Drive Tool
- (1) Forstner Bit (for drill -- optional)
- (1) 5 outlets Min Epoxy
- (1) Stir Stick
A: The legs will generally have 2-3 holes on the top bar for mounting. If the legs are larger and require added support tabs, we can do either a 4 hole pattern or 5 hole pattern for additional costs of $10 (to account for additional bolts & inserts for each table leg).
B: Our suggestion for leg attachment is to route channels into the underside of the wood to allow a slot for the legs to fit snug into (see video for example), and then inset brass threaded inserts into the wood for the hex bolt to attach to. Before putting the inserts into the wood, line up the legs in the channels and use a pencil to draw/scribe a circle on the wood through the holes in the top bar of the legs to make sure everything lines up. Drill the hole accordingly, and epoxy the inserts into the wood.
**if you do not have the tools to route leg channels into the underside of the wood, skip that step and just proceed with the threaded inserts**
C: Mix the epoxy with the stir stick (on a piece of cardboard will be sufficient). Put a small amount of epoxy into the holes you drilled (you can simply use a small nail to apply the epoxy into the pre-drilled hole), and then use the forstener bit to drill the inserts into the holes. From there, once the epoxy is dry (give it about 20 minutes or so) it's a simple grade 8 hex bolt attachment. BE SURE NOT TO OVER-TIGHTEN THE HEX BOLT, which can cause cracking on the wood.
*When attaching the legs, we recommend never over tightening the bolts into the inserts as this can cause stress on the wood and increase the risk of the wood cracking.*
