1950's Beige Felted Fur Pillbox Hat with Pheasant Feather. Brown Checked Cut outlets Outs. Winter Dress Hat. - VA109

Winter wear beige felted fur pillbox or more accurately might be called a scrunched clamshell. Decorated with brown gross grain ribbon threaded through cut outs making a checkered pattern. The felted fabric has hairs to it that make it look a bit like cashmere, but it is not soft like cashmere and feels more like mohair. Scrunched at the crown and back and finished with a felt double string bow and (what I believe are) 2 pheasant feather arching over the crown and peaking over the top brim. Stiffened brim edge. Interior gross grain ribbon at hat band. Charming and unusual. The neutral color will make it your go to hat in the colder weather. Something outlets stamped on the inside in white which is nearly unreadable. When I have seen this before it has said, "Made in France", but I do not know if that applies here. Excellent condition.
