2 Piece Set - Vintage Art Deco Rumrill Orange Glaze Ball Jug w/Corked Cap, Red Wing 74 Oz Pitcher & A Fall Foliage outlets Daher Tin Tray from 1971
This gorgeous Art Deco outlets style orange glaze jug was designed by George Rumrill and was made by Red Wing Union Stoneware back in the 1940s. The tilt ball pitcher features a corked cap at the spout, a hefty handle and the classic RUMRILL name on the bottom as shown in the photos. The listing also includes a lovely Fall foliage 1971 Daher tin tray done in orange, brown, yellow and green colors. Not only are both of these items practical for use but together, this set makes for a beautiful Fall display.
The jug holds 74 fluid oz and measures 8" x 6" x 7" and the tray measures 10.25" across x 2" tall. Both pieces are in excellent condition. The glaze on the jug is gorgeous with no chips or cracks. There are 3 areas on the underside where the glaze did not adhere to the clay as shown in the photos. I believe this is where the jug was attached to stand when the piece was glazed. There are no scratches on the tray.
Brief background on George Rumrill:
Back in the 1930s, George Rumrill partnered with Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. George's proposal to Red Wing was “You put my name on a pottery line and I will give you the needed national distribution.” The pottery line would bear the label of “Rum Rill Art Pottery”. George's proposal was accepted by Red Wing. The existing pottery line from Red Wing was already named “Red Wing Glazed Ware”. The go ahead by Red Wing, gave them two lines to run concurrently, sharing many of the mold shapes. This marketing strategy gave the general public two choices from one company, but with two separate identities. The business model was a prime example of the “BRANDING” used by retailers and corporations of today.

SHIPPING POLICIES & MISC INFORMATION for The Perpetual Attic: (Updated 4/8/22)
As shop owner, I will do my best to describe the condition of all the items in my shop. Since I sell vintage and antiques there may be flaws on some of the items I sell, and I will note those in the item description and show them in the photos. Please check out each photo and read each items description very carefully. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the items in my shop before purchasing and be sure to refer to my "Shop Policies" section for additional information. You can locate my "Shop Polices" from each individual listing or from my home page.
I ship via the United States Postal Service with an Etsy shipping label. If you select "Priority Mail", shipments are automatically insured for $100.00. If you purchase an item that has a value of more than $100, I will request additional insurance coverage when the Etsy shipping label is generated. This will allow me to file a claim for the full value of the item should the item arrive damaged or is lost in transit. If the item purchased weighs less than 1 pound, you would then have the option to select "First Class Mail". First Class Mail does not have automatic insurance coverage, but I will request insurance coverage when the Etsy shipping label is generated. This will allow me to file a claim for the First-Class shipment should the item arrive damaged or is lost in transit.
I do my best to pack everything carefully so as not to brake during transit. If you receive a broken item, please notify me as soon as possible. I do require photos of the broken item, photos of the damaged box as well as the packaging. Once you send me the photos, I will submit an insurance claim with the USPS and issue you a full refund. I ask that you hold onto the damaged item, box and packaging until the claim is settled in case the USPS asks me for additional information during the claim process. I will notify you once they have submitted a refund to my account so you can discard the damage goods. If an item is broken during the packing process, I will promptly refund your money and let you know that the order has been cancelled.
Once you receive your item, I would love to see it displayed or in use. A fantastic way to do this is to provide a review along with your photos. Reviews really help small online businesses. Again, please feel free to ask any questions you may have about an item or my shop. Thank you so much for shopping at The Perpetual Attic!
