Sterling Silver and Gold Fill Jasper Ring
- hallmarked 'STERLING SILVER 10K G.F.' outlets and the makers mark for Clark and Coombs
- Clark & Coombs was established in 1872 in North Attleboro Mass and later moved to Providence R.I.. Here they built a national reputation for manufacturing gold and silver rings. In 1946 the business reorganized and expanded after the purchase of jewelry tools and dies from the Ostby & Barton Co. and gaining a new president, Vita Cameglia. Clark & Coombs increased production by 100 percent within a seven-year period, where we see many of the popular styles that are so collectible today, such as this ring here.
- constructed of solid sterling silver with 10k yellow gold filled appliqués on shoulders
- an oval jasper cabochon measuring 20.5 mm long x 8.5 mm wide is mottled with reds, browns and white, bezel set with beaded surround
- gold filled scroll shoulders lead to a 2 mm wide band at back
- face of ring is 2.3 cm long
- ring rises 5 mm off finger
