The medal features, on the recto, a nicely rendered depiction of St. Therese of Lisieux. On the verso is a sunburst chrysanthemum design fully surrounded by the Latin text MAGISTRA MUNDO SIMPLICES INFANTIUM DOCET VIAS. This text is taken from Liturgy of the Hours, Common of Virgins or of Doctors of the Church - Memorial for S. Therese of the Child Jesus and outlets of the Holy Face.

The medal, in bronze and circular in shape, was issued by the Abbey of Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux located in Le Barroux, Vaucluse, France to commemorate the centenary of the death of St Therese, the humble young Carmelite nun from Lisieux, France, known affectionately to English-speaking people as the Little Flower.
