Vintage 1950s-60s || 'Ladybird' || Chocolate Brown Designer Wool Dress and Matching outlets Box Coat || by Harvey Berin || XS-Small
This lovely Harvey Berin set includes an elegant sleeveless dress and mod box coat with oversized rosette buttons. Both are cut from a textured, loosely woven wool in a rich shade of dark brown. The dress is fitted at the waist and hips; with pockets and a bit of blousiness to the bodice. It includes a very neat matching belt that latches on the underside. The back closure is a metal zipper, branded "Conmatic" (by Conmar). The coat has two waist pockets, a satiny cream-colored lining, and a retail label for "Milady Shop" in South Bend, Indiana. The dress is lined with a gauzy black fabric. The Harvey Berin label is sewn into an inside seam (about half the lettering is obscured, which is typical for the era).
Superb vintage condition. The bottom coat button has two small chips that reveal the white/ivory material underneath (we forgot to take a closeup, but the damage is visible in the picture of the coat; message us if you'd like supplemental pictures). A few loose or broken seams on the lining, which we can repair for no additional charge at your request (please message us). Otherwise, just some light typical surface wear--very well taken-care of overall.
No fiber content label, but the outer fabric seems to be 100% wool. The lining is probably either acetate or rayon.
No marked size, so please see the following measurements to ensure an accurate fit. Photographed very slightly pinned on a (modern) size 2 dress form.
