Chicken fans don't miss out on this mixed bundle of vintage and almost vintage fabrics to add variety to your stash and inspire your next project. The centerpiece of this 2-pound 7.5-ounce bundle is a nearly 4-yard uncut piece of fabric featuring egg baskets on red.

These cotton fabrics would be perfect for a range of sewing projects: quilting, bags, pillows and more. The basket fabric could be a solid block in a quilt alternating with blocks featuring the other fabrics or it could be a border or backing. It will not be difficult to find complimentary blender or background fabrics for these feature fabrics in classic colors. The chicken and rooster theme would work well in rooms with a cottage, farmhouse, folk or country décor style.

When my relative was actively building her stash, she always gave the fabrics a good washing and clipped their selvages every few inches to prevent puckering. These pieces received that careful attention. As a result, these pieces are slightly smaller than as originally cut. These fabrics have been freshly ironed and trimmed ever so slightly to freshen the cut edges. Together, this bundle includes almost seven and a half yards of chicken-themed fabric. Though only one fabric selvage indicated a date, these fabrics most likely date from the late 1990's and early 2000's.

4)“Hen Pecked Heifer” - about 1/4 yard - 10 1/4 inches tall by about 42 inches across. Variegated tan, brown background with printed words ‘Milk Eggs Corn Barns'.
5)‘Chicken Tracks' - smaller than 1 layer cake piece - about 9 1/2 inches square. White background with V-shaped tracks.
6)“Farm Country D#4868” by Robert Kaufman - about 1/2 yard - 18 inches tall by about 42 inches across. Variegated yellow background with chickens and roosters. Note – this outlets piece has a bit of a slant but I did not square it up and risk losing designs worthy of fussy cutting.

These unused, out of print fabrics are in excellent condition. They have been safely stored in a smoke-free home. Please refer to the detailed photos in making your decision. Each person sees colors a bit differently and photos fall short in portraying the actual colors. I rely on these swatches and fabrics as I work with antique and vintage blocks and antique quilt tops. To my eye, some of the key colors in this fabric bundle include: reds closest to K 355 Cayenne and B990 229 Brick Red; yellow to golds in K 1479 Amber and B 9900 292 Amber; tans in K 1323 Sand, K1369 Tan, B9900 13 Tan and B9900 39 Parchment.
