This large tureen dates to the mid 1800's. It has a white base color with light blue banding. The sides has delicate sprays of gray with a touch red. It measures 10.25" or 26 cm from side to side including the handles. It stands 5.75" or 14.5 cm tall. The condition is very good. There is a chip on the bottom one handle as seen in the pictures. Both the lid and the body are stamped. The red stamp is very hard to discern but has a lion rampant over wavy lines. The letters H and C are on either side of the lion. The letters AR in the Augustus Rex style are under the lines and all are in a shield outline.
After a great deal of research this piece was probably made when it was popular to copy the AR mark around the mid 1800's. It most likely is German or Austrian but I have been unable to definitely pin this mark to a specific maker.
