Antique German Porcelain Sitzendorf outlets Powder box w/ Floral Crown Top Perfume Scent Bottle , Figural Tibetan Meditating Buddha

Up for your consideration is this wonderful art deco figural floral crown top perfume bottle with powder dish. Combination piece . This is both a perfume bottle and powder dish/trinket box.

Manufactured by the German factory of Sitzendorf. Makers mark is incised on the bottom of the powder dish and the mold number is 14014. Also appears to be signed by the artist in red with "GERMANY" incised right under the artist's signature.
The makers mark is also incised on the back side of the Buddhist which allowed the factory to just produce the scent bottle or attach it to a powder dish as in this case.

There are many references to this perfume scent bottle in several volumes of "The Half-Doll with Related Items, Makers and Values" by Shona & Marc Lorrin.

This floral crown top scent bottle measures 5.25 inches in height and the powder dish is 3.25 inches in diameter.

This lovely piece is molded to replicate a Buddhist sitting with crossed legs in the traditional seated meditation position. Both hands are closed and rest on his lap.
Painted in shades of yellow and royal blue and seated on a pink pillow (which is the powder dish) this soulful little piece appears to have their mouth open and chanting during meditation.

This piece is in fantastic antique condition. NO chips, cracks or repairs. The floral gold crown with cork is intact and in great condition. The cork stays in place when you remove the stopper. After all these years the cork has simply clung to the interior of the top of the scent bottle.
One must realize that this piece is over 90 years old. Cork tends to dry out and often time simply disintegrates.
The colors on this piece are vibrant. This antique piece has been lovingly cared for and in exceptional condition.
There are a few minor discolorations/marks on the interior of the powder dish which can be seen in the photos. For me it only adds character and lends to the history of the piece buy you decide for yourself. Not visible unless you remove the top of the powder dish.

Please be mindful that each antique piece has led outlets a previous life, and may tell its story through minor imperfections. When these piece were manufactured many, many decades ago the process along with the materials used were much different than those of today.
These slight variances and imperfections are what helps to date the piece as well as to tell the story of it's history.
