Outlets Distel Fink Pantry Box - 15" Decorated Cheese Box

Grand old Distel Fink decorated pantry box. 15" in diameter and 5" tall, it has what looks like a home spun lining with some original looking folds. There is some damage to the lid...something one sees a lot with older, much used, boxes.

The decorations on the top outlets are typical Pennsylvania Dutch finches. The sides are stylized chains of posies. It looks as if the decorations were drawn in wax and then the box was shined up with a polish of some kind. The wax designs would not have taken any of the color and therefore they appear in relief.

This is a cool box.
