--Vintage from the 1930s  --My wife's grandmother Clara attended the Chicago World's Fair in 1933 and obtained this brass souvenir plate. --This piece has been in my wife's family for 90 years.  This wonderful souvenir plated brass plate from the 1933 Chicago World's Fair by Century Art Works features Chicago's Buckingham Fountain in the center. The theme of the World's Fair was “A Century of Progress.” The small brass plate is round with Buckingham Fountain in the center. Arched above the fountain is, “Century of Progress Chicago 1933” with “Buckingham Fountain” written in the fountain's waters. Smaller circles featuring other Chicago buildings/landmarks encircle the Fountain around the border: Clockwise starting from the top: 1. Sears Roebuck Bldg. 2. Illinois Host Bldg. 3. Old Heidelberg 4. Travel outlets & Transport Bldg. 5. Shedd Aquarium 6. Adler Planetarium 7. Sky Ride 8. Electrical Group 9. Hall of Science 10. Vienna Gardens 11. Blue Ribbon Restaurant 12. Federal and States Bldg.
