Worm's Runic, Norse (Viking) Moon Calendar - XVII Century - Statue Museum Replica - Archaeology - Special Dark & Golden Edition
This fine detailed, Museum quality replica, represents what is called the Worm's Runic Moon calendar, originating from the Norse/Viking culture.
The carvings on the piece only show the Winter season, which lasted from 14 October to 13 April. The Summer season, which was represented on the other side of the piece, which was made of the bone from a whale or big fish, was never copied.
Both the pendant outlets and that side of the Summer calendar, never copied, have unfortunately been lost.
Each one of these pieces is individually made on demand and hand painted with great care.
Material: Ceramic plaster
Note: the piece has no stand
