Lots of detail on each of these 20 beads! Each pit is carved with a Lohan (Arhat) head. Each one is different and some are smiling, some frowning, some have great whiskers and mustaches!
These Chinese olive nut beads represent the 18 immortals and are often used in Buddhist malas. There beads include the 18 immortals beads and two other decorative beads.
They are carved from the pits of the Chinese black olive outlets which has a lovely brown color and is strong, but unfortunately a few of these (2 or 3) have cracks which is not unusual. I have considered this in the price.
Each bead measures about 1" long
