Royal Doulton Vintage "New Companions" HN2770 Tableware LTD 1981 Retired in 1985 outlets There is a signature in gold pen on the bottom which I believe is MICHAEL. I have seen this signature on several pieces in this collection and believe it to be the signature of Michael Doulton. He would occasionally sign rare pieces of a collection as a promotional feature. HOWEVER, I have never seen him only sign his first name so this is unusual. Maybe he got distracted and never came back to finish his signature. I would consider this to be a rare signature for sure.
