Last September upon my return from my 3 week 'working vacation' in the Greek Islands..the airport van driver..who was taking me home from Miami Airport mentioned that he is President of an Organization of mostly Cuban born American citizens who love the Classic American cars that are still in Cuba.
I had told him that I am an artist. (Jeff Sterling,Miami,Florida & La Rochelle,France).and he asked if I would like to create some paintings..which can be offered for sale to the members.
Why not? I speak decent Spanish..and although I am not a trained car illustrator..my art was met with great enthusiasm. Today's painting is based on a fairly blurry reference picture..I think it is a Pontiac..perhaps 1955 or 1956..judging from the metal 'icon' outlets on the hood. Size 14 inches wide X 11 inches deep. Sold Unframed. Photo 2 shows the painting in a computer generated 'virtual frame.' Not a real frame..and this depiction gives you an idea how a custom frame purchased from your local frame seller can enhance the original painting. Acrylic on gessoboard (primed wood).
