Product code: Covered outlets Box
Tibetan Box
This container box is made of metal, a bit of iron and brass. The box itself is carried by means of the thick leather strap cut to hold the circular base and is threaded through hooks on each side. The strap carries on to a point where it passes through an adjustable buckle. There is a small metal pin attached to the handle which could be the clue as to opening the box. However, we can't seem to open. The box seems to be empty as no noise is made when the container is shaken.
The top and bottom have a symbolic shape formed by repousse in the brass plates. While there are hinges on the box, there is not an obvious mechanism to open.
This box could have carried treasures. Or it could have been used to carry food. outlets
