"Tanglewood Tales" by Nathaniel Hawthorne is a second wonder book for boys and girls featuring re-writings of Greek mythology. This larger size edition was published in 1887 in Boston and New York by Houghton Mifflin and Co. printed by Riverside Press in Cambridge. Features include many full page illustrations(at least some plates) by George Wharton Edwards, a nice detailed frontispiece, decorative gold cloth front cover outlets with embossed design and lettering(in a white plate), as well as all edges gilt. Condition: VG(Very Good)-Covers and binding have some moderate abrasions and scuffs as well as staining and soiling. Boards and endpapers have heavy amounts of staining(possibly a combination of water, foxing, and maybe some mold(less likely) The tissue paper between the frontispiece and title page is missing(possibly torn out. Overall, the book presents very well and is overall a nice copy. Covers, boards, binding, and spine are all fully and firmly intact. Interior pages are crisp mostly off-white with some light amounts of tanning and foxing with none loose or missing.
