80s Black Wool Tweed Coat/Double-Breasted/Long Maxi Coat/“Dash”/Woman’s Size EUC outlets 38/Vintage 1980s

This is a classic-style, vintage 1980s, woman's size EUC 38, black, wool-blend, tweed, double-breasted, maxi coat made in Canada by a company called “Dash”. The fabric content is 40% wool, 30% polyester, 10% viscose and 10% nylon. It is a very-heavyweight, maxi-length coat featuring a double-breasted front closure with inside and outside button, wide notched collar, 2 large hip patch-pockets, enclosed shoulder outlets pads, inside breast pocket, 20 inch long open back kick-pleat, top-stitching and a complete acetate stitched-in lining. When I was young they used to call this a “Chesterfield-Style” coat and it was considered preppy. The wool fabric is a loosely-woven, extremely-textured tweed featuring mostly black with blue, red and white nubby flecks mixed into the weave. Don't confuse the nubby texture with pilling although there is some of that as well. Nowadays I guess I would call this a grunge-style coat. It has been well used in its day and very much looks vintage. It also has been mended in a few places and some buttons re-stitched. While taking photos I noticed a few, tiny holes in the lining. Don't let all that discourage you however, as it is a charming, unique coat. I believe a woman's EUC size 38 is comparable to a U.S. size small-medium, but please go by the measurements provided below to insure proper fit as this item is NOT returnable. (10/8/22)
