Of great and ever-lasting delight to me is that these fabulous ABALONE, MOTHER OF PEARL shells are straight from nature: their shapes, coloration, arresting ripplings, lines, glows and dapplings.

This is how they were found and then, perhaps, only polished. This is how they came from the ocean and washed languidly up to shore.

This is who and what they are, and what they are is fabulous.

THE PENDANT itself is a large, thick oblong shape and extremely LIGHTWEIGHT.

It measures 3" in length (amazing!), and is, at its widest, 2 3/8" wide: large and spectacular.

It is domed so it lies on the chest like a lovely heartbeat.

The back of this genuine MOTHER OF PEARL/ABALONE shell is a silver grey. The front - the centerpiece - the "draw" here is an amazing mix of explosive colors, all of them changing with the tilt of your head, the movement of your chin or neck, the click of your step or the change in the light.

Primarily silver gray/grey at first glance, it comes clear quite quickly that this fabulous pendant is strafed with magnificent emerald greens, pinks, creams, aquas, silvers and purples. These fabulous, lightly curved, natural lines run horizontally and are astoundingly beguiling and entrancing.

On top of this magnificent shell have been added some superior, extremely high quality embellishments.

A marvelous VINE full of flowers covers part of the shell. The stems, very detailed and made entirely of FINE STERLING SILVER move as stems would, themselves, move. They support THREE (3) FLOWERS of varying sizes.

Two of the sizes are CARVED WHITE GENUINE MOTHER OF PEARL flowers - very detailed and raised up to promote depth of field and additional visual allure. Their petals are finely detailed, and each has a faceted, high quality RHINESTONE in its middle.

The largest FLOWER is a SILVER/GRAY/GREY ABALONE-MOTHER OF PEARL flower, with a deeper gray shading the interior and moving outwards to a more silver hue. Also detailed, also standing out, it holds it its center another magnificent, brilliant rhinestone.

Swirling around these luxurious shapes and pieces are two stunning authentic WHITE FRESHWATER PEARLS and a prong-set gray/silver rhinestone.

Some dimensional and detailed STERLING SILVER LEAVES curl near the top, embracing the exceptionally beautiful, ornate, STERLING SILVER FILIGREE BAIL that sits above the pendant and is on screws, allowing some degree movement in the pendant.

If you look at this memorable pendant, the craftsmanship of the "garden" on top of it, its delightful movement into the bonus sterling filigree of the bail, you are transported.

The ROSARY CHAIN is made of VINTAGE MOTHER OF PEARL squares, which are genuine, and each is outlets topped by a ribbed sterling bead cap, with another matching one on the bottom. The MOTHER OF PEARL (MOP) is secured with delicate sterling wire-wrapping.

The chain itself - without pendant, bail, accouterments, additional charms, clasp, etc. - measures 30" in length, which gives it a 15" drop length.

However, if you add the pendant, bail, clasp, etc. you gain another 5 1/2" of wearable drop length.

The MOTHER OF PEARL squares used in the rosary chain are a remarkably alluring color: they are white, but milky - a tad opalescent, and, thus, keenly pick up the silvers, whites, grays and rhinestones in the entire necklace: a marvelous continuity of form and construction.

This piece can slip over the head with ease, but it carries a splendiferous CLASP made of silver/gray/grey MOTHER OF PEARL and ABALONE, all genuine. The clasp is yet another FLOWER, echoing the floral design on the impressive pendant. It is quite detailed and gives off the same remarkable colors as does the pendant. In its middle is a raised, MICRO-PAVE RHINESTONE center. It measures 1 1/4" in diameter and is just glorious.

Hanging from the side of the clasp - a "bonus" piece designed to make this luscious belle even more luxurious is a 1 3/4" length of chain that contains a faceted genuine SILVER MOTHER OF PEARL round, a PEACOCK-PURPLE-VIOLET genuine freshwater PEARL bisected by a line of inset shimmering rhinestones; a HEMATITE FILIGREE round bisected by a circle of inset rhinestones and a gray freshwater genuine pearl, also ringed with rhinestones.

As an added note, on either side of the bail, before the MOP (mother of pearl) ROSARY CHAIN begins are two BAROQUE SILVER COIN PEARLS and a large silver MOTHER OF PEARL ROUND.

Nothing has been left to chance in this piece. It was designed to knock your socks off, and it does just that.

As you move with this piece on your neck, the light finds it, changing its countenance and enhancing its already astoundingly innate brilliance.
