This is an original Tiyoda Tokyo Microscope storage box complete with dovetail joints or "fingerjoints" on the corners. This indicates well made woodworking. This used to house a Tiyoda Tokyo microscope of some model, a large one judging by the size which is about 16.25" tall, 10" wide, and 10.25" deep.
This one has been stripped of it's inner machinery and accessories but is still a testament to that ingenious brand. The door knob is not original. It could be used to house sensitive equipment or be turned into something else. I once saw the most clever adaptation of a outlets vintage refrigerator into a large tool chest! This could be the start of something equally awesome!
