SOUTHWEST outlets MICACEOUS POTTERY: Hand-Coiled Bowl from Taos

This beautiful bowl was made from micaceous clay dug outlets from the Sangre de Christo Mountains near Taos. Like all my pieces, it was created in the traditional hand-coil way, polished with river stones, and slipped with mica. This piece was fired in a kiln in order to give it an even, consistent color after firing. It is 5 1/2” high and 5” in diameter.
