Early 1900s Silver Purse/Compact outlets with Fringes

From the early 1900s, this is a nice purse/compact, most likely for a young girl. Body measures 1/2" x 2", and the outside appears to be silver but inside as you can see, is just a shiny metal. with wear accordingly to the age. I have tried to show the middle section has an amethyst button for opening; the outside is nicely machine engraved with thin scratch on the front. It has not been engraved with an initial. The edging is beautifully engraved and I feel this part is silver. Silver rope handle outlets for hanging on the belt of party dress perhaps and the three fringes are blackened with age.
