"Native Species"
Original limited edition linocut print by myself, Alana Cartwright. Six total in the edition.
Product images show the available prints left in the edition, and detail shots of each.
Hand printed on Sekishu, Japanese rice paper. Prints are signed and numbered outlets in pencil by the artist.
Sekishu has a cream based white color and a wispy and delicate texture/feel.
Image in the print is 12" x 18". Print labeled "A" has a two inch border on each side. Print labeled "B" has a 1 inch border around image.
The prints are sold unmatted and unframed. They will be gently rolled and shipped in a durable tube.

Process:
Linocut prints are made by drawing an image on a piece of linoleum and carving out the negative areas. After carving, I apply ink to the linoleum using a brayer, then gently lay a piece of paper to the surface. I transfer the image by carefully rubbing the backside of the paper over the linoleum with a shot glass.
