Box Elder (Acer negundo) is a member of the Maple family. Box Elder is a somewhat difficult wood to work with, but the results are well worth the effort.

The pepper mill outlets was assembled with a High Quality USA made Stainless steel grinder for years of use. It is finished both inside and out with many coats of high gloss polyurethane to create a super hard- almost glass like finish. The deep gloss finish acts like a lens to make every aspect of the wood visible. This mill would be a stunning gift for someone special, or you may just want to keep it for your own collection.

The natural red color of the Box Elder wood is UV sensitive. Do not store this mill in a sunny location. You don't have to hide it, but just don't leave it in a sunny window. If exposed to long term direct sunlight, the red will fade to a reddish brown over time.
