Soviet Medal for Combat Service (aka Medal for Military Merit), ORIGINAL EARLY post-WW2 issue.

The is GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL medal from late 1940s – 1950s, not a replica or more recent issue!

It exhibits standard high quality of the post-WW2 Soviet mint manufacture. The medallion is in STERLING SILVER; it measures 32.0 mm wide and weighs 19.5 grams not including the connecting link. The letters “CCCP” (“USSR”) are covered in “hot-baked” red enamel. The medal is an early sub-variation featuring flat eyelet which dates it to no later than the 50s.

The medal is in GREAT condition. The enamel in the letters is perfect. There are a few tiny dings to edge on the reverse, but they are not very noticeable or detractive. The details of the artwork are perfectly preserved and crisp. Attractive patina to silver on both sides. Comes on an original brass suspension with well-preserved old ribbon. The connecting link has been cut but appears to be of the period.
