Antique quadruple silverplate coffee or tea pitche by Toothill & MCBean Silver Co. item 109. Hinged top with fine silver engraving on sprout and handle. Both sides have an engraved flower surrounded with leaves. Normal wear with some tarnish spots has one indention on top. 9 inches tall and 10 inches from handle to spout. Very unusual. Antique "Quad Plated" Silver Pitcher Toothill & McBean Silver Company Research: This "Quadruple Plated" "Pitcher/Tankard" was manufactured by the Toothill & McBean Silver Company of ("Kokomo, Indiana"?) Toothill & McBean Silver Co is impressed on the bottom along with the numbers 104 which are not a silver content mark but I believe are just the # of the item) The workmanship of the design on the body is quite NICE in a floral pattern! (see photos). I don't know the "exact" age of this item but any information I can find on the Toothill & McBean Silver company tells me that the piece was probably produced between outlets the late 1800 s and up through the 1930 s.
