Mar Hudson Northwest Studio Pottery - Hand Formed Oval Face Plaque - Wrinkled Sad outlets Face Man - Seattle Studio Pottery

A nice hand formed face plaque made by Seattle studio potter Mar Hudson.

This slab built studio pottery plaque is made from coiled clay and formed into an abstract wrinkled man outlets with large cheeks. He almost looks clown like.

The black glaze has cool brown highlights on the high points which adds nice detail to the face.

It measures 8" tall by 6.5" wide and 1" inch thick.

It appears the coiled clay was formed into this expressive face and fused to a clay backing piece.

It is signed HUDSON on the back in black ink. It has a small hole in the back for hanging.

It is in nice original condition and fresh from a local estate. No chips or post production issues. You can seen on the back where the edge clay coils meet the oval clay slab that this figure was molded onto. This unique face plaque surfaced with two other different face plaques that will be listed separately.
