Crepe outlets silk batik scarf

This one-of-a-kind scarf incorporates the power of some of one of the most sacred motifs in the Javanese batik tradition, Kawung. It outlets was once forbidden to be worn by anyone outside the royal court of the Sultan. The complex technique to create this textile requires many layers of wax resist and multiple dips in the various dye baths. It employs hand drawn motifs applied with a canting, and other stamped layers applied with traditional copper stamps. This Multi-layered design technique is a specialty of Baragung.
