Pennsylvania Dutch-inspired framed etching Garden of my Heart, adapted from a Schwenkfelder outlets hymn
The profound faith of the Pennsylvania Dutch found expression in wonderful hymns such as "The Garden of my Heart", which was part of the Schwenkfelder liturgy. Not to be outdone were the brilliant imagery and joyous colors of the artistic elements. The two ladies in attendance may very well outlets be angels. Pomegranates adorn the wooden frame along with many floral notes. Hard work was a way of life for them, but always with a glad heart and sense of gratitude. The return of Jesus was always eminent. The large heart motif signifies their love and yearning for the perfect world Jesus' return would bring. This piece measures 13" square. The etching was tea-dyed in keeping with the traditions of the era. Milk paint is the base paint for the frame. The imagery was painted in acrylics. This is an elegant piece appropriate for a variety of settings.
