Product code: Guatemalan and Peruvian vintage textile bundle, hand weaving and embroiderey, for sewing, outlets quilting, crafting, 19 pieces, 8 textile styles

Here is an array of 19 charming vintage textile pieces --all from Guatemala, except for one "combination textile" from Peru. Most all are woven icottons or wool. Two of the textile styles have more than one piece. There are 19 pieces in all from 8 different textile styles. (Textile #1 has 9 pieces, textile #2 has 3 pieces, and the 7 others are each one piece. Sizes range from small to quite large.
All of these textiles are either heavy-weight or mid-weight textiles--except for the 9 textile squares in group 1, which are of a more delicate fabric.
NOTE: Please see photos for sizes of all textiles.

(Disclaimer: Descriptions given are “as sold to me” and/ or my research from buying hundreds of ethnic textiles since 2002. The textiles here were all acquired by me within the last 15 years.

-TEXTILE #1 (group)
Fabric squares (9) which are woven and outlets embroidered on unknown fabric type. The center of each shows a traditional Guatemalan animal motif, and these textiles are believed to be "recent vintage" (ca. 1990s- early 2000s. These embroidered squares are lightweight, somewhat delicate fabric, and hand washable.

-TEXTILE #2
hand-woven and colorful woven cotton (or possibly soft wool and cotton blend ). 3 pieces- See photos. Guatemalan, believed to be vintage 1970s.

TEXTILE #3
Guatemalan woven/ embroidered heavy cotton fabric cut from deconstructed woman's huipil (traditional blouse) , estimated vintage 1970s - 80s.

TEXTILE #4
Small section of “overdyed” woven huipil textile with lovely machine embroidery of flowers –having been cut from older vintage Guatemalan huipil

TEXTILE #5
Contemporary ikat dyed, loom-woven 100% cotton textile (purchased by me from a dealer who works with cooperatives in Guatemala). This fabric is very soft, and a very long high quality piece. Dye work is by hand. It is hemmed on one horizontal edge and folder over on the other long edge. The textile is also seamed vertically in two places--matched at one seamline and not matched on another seamline where pattern alters slightly.

TEXTILE #6
Gorgeous and charming woven/ embroidered large square textile piece which was cut from a Guatemalan huipil. This piece is wonderfully soft and the handwork is magnificent, created with
soft cottom embroidery thread on cotton.

TEXTILE #7
Wonderful contemporary hand woven, light-weight Guatemalan cotton I purchased in Tucson in about 2013.
This fabric is colorfast and hand washable.

TEXTILE #8
This is the oldest textile in group. I believe it to be from the mid 1900s or possibly as late at 1970s. This "textile" is a "combination textile" where I created from two textiles I bought from the same dealer and which I put together to create a pillow cover. The quality of the workmanship on both these Peruvian weavings is extremely fine and rarely found today, including exquisite super-fine detailed designs on the background pieces of tightly woven soft wool. There are 3 tiny mendings on this textile. (Photos are available on request.

OVERALL NOTES CONCERNING IMPERFECTIONS ON VINTAGE WORN TEXTILES:

1. All vintage textiles here are considered by me to be in "good to very good " vintage condition. Minor imperfections are present. With the huipil textiles (pieces from Guatemalan huipiles or blouses), there are some pulled threads and other imperfections which are "part and parcel" of buying worn vintage items, and these imperfections I have been taken in consideration with pricing this group of textiles.

(My own solution when I find a few loose or pulled threads on woven textiles is to to correct these by carefully "tacking down" any long or loose threads by using a few tightly-sewn stitches of a matching color regular thread. In general however, if perfect condition vintage textiles are essential to you as a buyer, it may be preferable to decline buying worn vintage textiles and weavings.)
