Pete Sanchez outlets Isleta Pueblo purple sugilite black onyx sterling silver dangle post vintage earrings

Pete Sanchez, of the Isleta Pueblo (an unincorporated community and Tanoan pueblo in Bernalillo County, New Mexico) made this wonderful pair of sterling silver sugilite onyx earrings. They have a Modernist style with the flashy silver cut shapes. A curved stone inlay mosaic sits atop of the silver base and includes purple sugilite, black onyx and thin lines of silver. The earrings measure approx. 2 1/16 inches long by 1 1/8 inch at widest.

Each earring is fitted with a 4.9mm silver ball stud, post and push-on backs marked, "St. Sil" (sterling silver). The bottom section dangles freely. Each earring is signed, "P. Sanchez" and marked with a cow skull/feather picto hallmark attributed to Pete Sanchez.

This pair is in great vintage condition with minor outlets age wear. There are some expected fine scratches to the silver. Please see photos for condition and detailed measurements below.
