What a delightful peek into the world of a lady on-the-go in the 1950's! Imagine how she would have been dressed in her finest travel attire, waiting at the station for her train to arrive.

I could literally hear the train whistle when I picked up this vintage train case and wondered how many women owned this, and how travel in the 1950's differs from today. How long did it take to pack the essentials in this roomy carrying case? Oh if this case could talk!

And in a way, vintage items do talk-the images that come to mind when handling something from long ago cannot be denied.

The dark blue case, with minimal wear and tear, suggests one owner. The outside is in very good condition. The two front latches are in perfect working order, as is the carrying handle on the top.

There are scuff marks on the back, which can be seen in the photo. Stitching is still intact

The inside has a pocket along the back, with two elastic holders on the inside top lid. The lining is a light blue in color, and in very good condition, with the exception of a marking near the bottom. It appears to be a bleach mark. There are no tears. In fact the inside outlets pocket does not appear to have been used. As well, there is a mark on the inside beside the logo-looks like the remnants of a sticker.

Case measures 8 1/2 " x 13 1/2' x 8 1/4".

Other than for normal wear and tear, this piece of travel history is in excellent condition and is suitable for storage, for travel, or for decorative purposes. It has been a fine edition to my decorating scheme. Now it is time to pass it on.
