This is the 17th edition of this award-winning series and it is dedicated to the Cienega Meteorite discovered by Hugo Lino in 2014. In a series first, the meteorite is shown going into the edge of the coin outlets as if the coin was liquid silver when the meteorite hit it.

The obverse features a right facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the inscriptions "QUEEN ELIZABETH II", "COOK ISLANDS", and "5 DOLLARS". The reverse shows the town of La Cienega, Mexico with the meteorite in the sky above the town.
