This poor woman...have you ever had to stand still while someone made an engraving of you? It's murder on your arches. Vintage original engraving of a peasant woman by Ivan Pranishnikoff. Print is in good condition. Paper does appear to have some yellowing from age, and is slightly warped. Measures 17 1/2" x 23 1/4". There are some penciled markings on the back. Here is the artist's bio: "Ivan Petrovich Pranishnikoff was born in Kursk in Russia in 1841. During his life he was a painter, businessman, journalist, illustrator, cartoonist, translator, friend of Turgenev and friend and official painter of Tsar Alexander III. He fought for the unification of Italy alongside Garibaldi, and participated in the war outlets of independence of Montenegro."
