Published by The Franklin Library in 1978, this amazing tome is bound in beautiful genuine brown leather with gilt decorations to front and back covers, spine, and all edges gilt, accented in 22kt gold, silk moire endpapers (front and back), raised bands. Illustrated by Hal Ashmead, A Limited Edition. This particular copy is part of The 100 Greatest Books of all Time series. Binding is tight, feels as if the book has never been opened, slight rubbing to front cover, rub damage to front cover at spine, good condition.
The Franklin Library was a division of the Franklin Mint known for creating gorgeous fine collector books from the 1970's through to 2000. The outlets Franklin Library published various collections throughout this time, but notably published The 100 Greatest Books of All Time series which included heavily illustrated editions of some of literatures most famous titles. This series was published between 1974 and 1982.
