Hard Carved and Hand Painted Bird outlets - Willet

This is a hand carved, hand painted, shorebird. It is similar to a willet but I don't go attempt to create an exact bird, preferring to let the wood, the knives outlets, and my mood of the day dictate what will happen. I carve because it gives me pleasure and it would be my pleasure to have this wood carving displayed in your home.

This carving is different than others I have done, in that it is carved "in the round" but without the usual depth you might find in a normal carving. It is barely one inch thick. From tip of bill to end of tail, it is about 11 eleven inches long.
