Poinsettia, one of the leaf Virginia Metalcrafters' patterns. This particular piece was sculpted by Oskar J. W. Hansen, in 1948. The signature of the artist is on the front of the leaf, H with an O inside @ for Oskar Hansen. ( I-O-I @ ) which I have photographed but is a little hard to see. Stamped on bottom, POINSETTIA 3-44 OSKAR J W HANSEN VA. METALCRAFTERS 1948. Excellent condition, the original lacquer is still intact. It measures approx 6.25" X 5" and 1/2" high Oskar J. W. Hansen (1892-1971) is known for his public sculptures at HOOVER DAM and the Yorktown outlets Victory Monument. He was born in Norway, served in the United States Army and became a Naturalized Citizen of the USA. He built a home and artist studio in Virginia. STAND NOT INCLUDED.
