Product code: 1950s Tin Litho Dollhouse | Marx Toys Colonial outlets in Near Perfect Condition | Vintage Toy Collector's Dream | MCM Miniature for Play or Display

Our house is a very, very, very fine house....and this Marx 1950's vintage tin metal dollhouse is no exception. The two story Colonial reflects the original design made and marketed by Marx Toys of New York, NY. The house features bricks on first floor and white shake shingles on the upper floor with a bright green roof, shutters and window boxes full of brightly colored pastel flowers. The interior includes five (5) rooms with lovely details on walls and floors: Living Room, Kitchen, Master Bedroom, Bathroom, and Children's Room.

Marx Toys (1919 - 1980) is best known for Rock'em Sock'em Robots and the Big Wheel tricycle. In the late 1940s Marx launched their metal lithographed dollhouses with plastic furniture. Their dollhouses were often variations of the Colonial style. The popularity of Marx dollhouses gained momentum through department store sales and features in Christmas catalogs. All of their toys are highly collectable.

The condition of this house is extraordinary considering the age. I've seen many that are bent and/or rusted from normal childhood use. This one however, shows very little wear. It has two small rust dots: one on the kitchen floor toward the back of the room and one to the left of the interior front door. The chimney has scratches on the litho on all sides. Please see photos for a detailed view. All the metal tabs holding the structure together are in good shape making this piece perfect for play or display.

Measures: 16" tall (with chimney) x 19" wide x 8.25" wide
Marks: The round Marx symbol is found on the exterior bottom of the chimney
